How it works
Set it once. Every ministry follows.
In LEAD, any ministry or role can require another before someone is authorized to serve. Make your safe environment program that requirement, and catechists, coaches, lectors, and youth volunteers show as authorized only while they’re current.
Already use VIRTUS? You can connect it, and VIRTUS compliance can serve as the requirement. It’s entirely optional: some dioceses run their own safe environment program in LEAD, and some connect VIRTUS.

Do we need VIRTUS?
No. You can run your own safe environment program in LEAD, with training, signed policies, and background check dates your office records. If your diocese uses VIRTUS, you can connect it as well. It’s entirely optional.

If we use VIRTUS, how does the integration work?
LEAD brings in each person’s VIRTUS training and background check dates and works out whether they’re current. Any ministry or role can then require VIRTUS compliance before someone is authorized. VIRTUS stays your program of record; LEAD only reads from it.
Can people sign policies in LEAD?
Yes. Tasks can require someone to read, acknowledge, or sign a document, like a code of conduct, and your office can see who has and who hasn’t.
