Is LEAD an LMS?
Yes. LEAD is a learning management system (LMS) built for the Catholic Church. It does what you’d expect from an LMS — courses, learning paths, assignments, certificates, and reporting — and goes further: in-person sessions with QR check-in, cohorts and mentors, registrations and payments, community, and native apps.
What programs can we run on LEAD?
Catechist formation and certification, Catholic school teacher formation, safe environment training and compliance (with an optional VIRTUS integration), marriage and baptism preparation, OCIA (formerly RCIA), lector and EMHC training, youth ministry, and conferences and events of any size.
How is LEAD priced?
As an annual partnership scoped to your institution: the parishes and people you serve, the programs you run, and the level of support you need. After a discovery conversation, we’ll send a proposal.
How do parishes and schools fit in?
Every institution gets its own private instance of LEAD, and no data is shared with anyone else. Parishes and schools live inside it: local leaders invite their people into diocesan programs and can host programs of their own.
Does LEAD work in Spanish and other languages?
Yes. LEAD’s screens and emails come in English and Spanish, and each person sees them in their own language. You can offer courses in both, and learners see the ones in theirs. LEAD is built to support more languages. To add one, we’ll work with you on the translations.
Do people have to use the app?
No. Everything works in a web browser. The LEAD Catholic app for iPhone and Android makes it easier to stay connected, get reminders, and check in.
Can people pay for programs and events?
Yes. Registrations, tickets, and paid programs run through secure online checkout.
How does LEAD protect people?
LEAD has no open direct messaging between members, a deliberate choice for safe environments. The only one-to-one messages are between a mentee and the mentor their leaders assigned. Data is encrypted in transit, form answers are encrypted at rest, and nothing is ever sold or used for advertising.
